A lot of people are demanding for a guide on how to change a weapon's damage. Well, here it is, the Do-It-Yourself-Noob-Proof-5 step-All that and a bag of chips- Guide.

First things first, you need Fable Explorer, related link in the Wiki. Install it, browse it a little, scratch your head and let's begin.

Step ONE Open Fable Explorer, and look for OBJECTS in the scrollbar to your left, as seen HERE.

Step TWO Double-click OBJECT and scroll down until you find the weapon of choice. In our guide I'll be using a Steel Katana as an example, as seen HERE.

Step THREE Ok, after selecting the "OBJECT" item in the scrollbar to the right, you should see a list with tables and some other mambo-jambo. What you are LOOKING for it called "CWeaponDef", so scroll around until you find it. Now, right under that, there is a refference to CDefDataEntry followed by a number. HERE is an example.

Step FOUR Click the blue link right under it (called "Links to (GameBINEntryID)") and another panel emerges. Scroll down and find the Damage Entry. A number should be under it. THAT'S the weapon's current damage, divided by 10.
So for example if you want the weapon you are editing to havea damage of 500, change this value to 50. Example is shown HERE.

Step FIVE After you changed the value, click the "Apply changes" button and than either save the game.bin manually (right click, Save As), or in the FE Menu, click Action / Save Mods and Run Fable.

VOILA. You can experiment with other changes also, you can basically modify anything, from the weapons Augments to Augment slots,it's name and description, to swapping it's MESH (a bit trickier) and what-not. Hope this helps.

Don't know who stickied these. But I went ahead and renamed them to keep my brain from bleeding. Converting my information to laymen's terms is appreciated though.

i bet there will still be questions about it anyways.

There once was a member of this land,
a humorous posting he planned,
but when he posted,
by mods he was toasted,
and now he has found himself banned.

The obisidan weapons are ID's as EBONY_WHATEVER. Like; EBONY_KATANA would be the Obsidian Katana.

Also, the Master Weapons, are ID'd as CRYSTAL. So, again, CRSYTAL_KATANA would be the Master Katana.

Hi Iam new to this forum not new to the site iteslf thougth been here and downloaded various skin and mods which you guys are all doing a great job with.

However when it comes to modding myself Iam as new to that as newborn baby is to the world.

I wanted to test out the easy damage guide which I fiddled with the aid of Fable explorer.

Changing the damage too weapons like sword, hammers etc was no problem using the guiding steps above.

But when it comes to ranged weapons how does one change the damage then?
The same steps as above using CWeaponDef
and GameBINEntryID and change the value there,
cus I did not got that to work or do I have to change some other value as its a ranged weapon and not a melee?

Henkm, to edit ranged weapon damage, you must go to CWeaponDef, then instead of Damage, go to Shot. Click the Link there and edit the field titled Minimum Damage. The maximum damage is found by an equation with the force being pulled back on it and the minimum damage, but I don't know the equation.

Back up your text.big (Fable\data\lang\English)

1. Start Fable Explorer (get it here).

2. Look for OBJECT in the scrollbar to your left.

3. Double-click OBJECT and scroll down until you find the weapon you want to change and double-click it.

4. In the new window click on the 'CDefs' in the left panel and search in the right panel for 'CInventoryItemDef' and click on it the link 'Links to (GAMEBINEntryID):'.

5. Now a new window should open.

6. Click on 'CInventoryItemDef' in the new window, and search in the right panel for a link called: 'TEXT_OBJECT_WEAPON_TITLE (WEAPON obviously being the name of the weapon, like IRON_LONGSWORD).

7. Click on that link, and in the new window change the name of the weapon in the box next to 'content', and click apply changes.

8. Then, in the top bar in Fable Explorer, click 'Actions' and 'Save mods and run Fable'

If you add in a weapon like OBJECT_RIVAL_HERO_SCYTHE_WEAPON and try to edit the name it changees the name of all other RIVAL hero weapons such as: OBJECT_RIVAL_HERO_THUNDER_SWORD_V2. How can that be fixed?

There is no other name, you're just not looking good enough. It's in the Weapons CDefs list.

Just wondering, does it effect every one of those weapons in the game, like if you turn a steel katana damage to 500, does every steel katana have 500 damage forever?

it does and in my experience it also increases the weapon of the enemies who use that weapon.

It's so frustrating that i can only solve five sides of a Rubix Cube.
