If the def.xml and the other files are not in the directory you posted then you are running the app incorrectly. Make sure you aren't doing anything silly like trying to run the zipped version from within the zip file.
There is nothing in the Void.
There is no point to it's being.
I wish there was a reason.

* Ensure that all files in the zipped version are extracted to the same folder if this is the version your using (the installer version will not have this problem).
* Make sure you have the latest xml version in the same folder as the fe program.
* Make sure that any shortcuts you may have made to the app are correct.
* Do not try to open fmp files by double clicking on them, even if you have associated them with fe.
