I get an error(Object reference not set to an instance of an object)when load an .fmp in fable explorer the only one that does work is bowerstone weapon laws but any other older one(throwing disk)just gives the error I was searching once and I found a post about needing to remake .fmps for newer fable explorer but I don't know if that has anything to do with this.
So does anyone know how to get the .fmps to work(realy wan't throwing disk).

Marco didn't read the threads obviously.
The links to the previous build are removed each time a newer build is released. The fmp version has been rolled with newer releases meaning older ones needed to be recreated, I thought this had been done though.
Basically unless Hunter or someone can give you a copy compatible with the fmp (if this is the problem), your only option is to request a remake of the fmp.
|
Ok so should I pm Hunter.

No app except Registry checkers look at your entire registry. FE only looks for the entry for Fable's installation path.
Holy Avenger wrote: | If registry editor won't work, will FE running?
|
RegEdit is merely a tool to view and edit the registry with FE does not need it in order to run but if you can't run it by going to Start>Run>regedit then it may be the sign of a problem as some viruses, etc disable access to it in order to make themselves harder to remove.
As far as your fmp issues go there are a couple of things to check:
* Ensure you have the latest version of Fable Explorer and def.xml
* Ensure all archives are open (game.bin, etc)
* Ensure you are trying to load a mod that is compatible with your version of the game (I.E. don't try to load an Xbox mod on the PC version and vice versa)
There is nothing in the Void.
There is no point to it's being.
I wish there was a reason.
There is nothing in the Void,
But what we put there.

I also got the annoying
"object reference not set to an instance of an object"
as soon as I start Fabel Explorer
I press escape and I get this long error list.
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
Everything worked yesterday, was going to play for 2 hours now and then watch a movie and bed, but ofc I got BsoD when game started and then after reboot this is what is going on
Almost 4 hours into the game, Fable cant load the autosave without "NewItemPack_V2-5" which I used in fable explorer, the only one i used.
So now fable crash every time i try to load my save game and fable explorer crashes every time i try to load it
if I ignore all the error in the fable explorer I try to load "NewItemPack_V2-5" I get :
"Error Loading FMP
The index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less then the size of the collection.
Parameter name: index"
very annoying, thought it was a good game and was starting to enjoy the story and now nothing

First off, congratulations for setting a new necropost record at three months shy of seven years. Seriously, next time, check the date of the last post in a thread in the top right corner of said post. If it's been dead for more than a month, make a new thread.
Moving on, this error is rather frequent with Vista and Windows 7 users who installed Fable to Program Files(x86) and didn't change the directory that FE reads Fable's files from(only easily done with Shadownet FE, by the way). If you've not done that, do so now and try again. If you have... I got nothin'.
Read the site rules, as well as individual thread rules, stickies and announcements, and use search, or you will have smartassy or exasperated ownage rained down upon you by the site's crack team of mods and admins. Also, you can find all you need to get started on modding here.

thx for the reply
google found this and normal forums have an autolock that close a topic after 2-3 weeks of inactivity if they dont want the old thread used again
This was not locked so ofc I assued it was here to post instead of spamming by creating another thread
Shadownet FE <--- cant seem to find a download via google anywhere
so how do I change that without Shadownet FE ?

... You know, we have our own search function independent of Google. Try it some time. Or better yet, you could've checked the tools section, whereupon you would find this stickied topic.
Get the version without sound, as it actually works. Tadaa! Now you just have to change the file path in Shadownet's config file. You will find instructions for this below.
Alright, open up config.xml inside of the folder in which you have Shadownet installed. Look for this line: <UseRegistry>TRUE</UseRegistry>
Change TRUE to FALSE. Now, find the line below.
<InstallDirectory>C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Fable - The Lost Chapters\</InstallDirectory>
Change the directory listed to wherever you have Fable installed to. You should now be able to use Shadownet to mod the game successfully.
