The longbows in the game will now shoot decapitated heads instead of arrows. I've made 6 different .fmp's. One for yew longbow, one for oak longbow, etc. as well as an .fmp that includes all longbows in the game. Please post comments if you download.

*Note* The heads will not do any damage, hence the reason for including so many .fmp's. I'm sure there is a way to add damage, though changing their minimum damage in SHOT doesn't help, so if you know how, please feel free to post.

We labeled some fun stuff in the SHOT entries. You should play with them. Such as deflecting and bouncing. And some of the physicsDef.

EDIT: So are you saying that there's no way to add damage, or that damage is controlled through the bounce and deflection?

EDIT2: Okay, I've been trying to add damage to the heads, but i've encountered a weird problem. It occured to me that the easiest way to add damage would be to use a regular arrow as the shot and simply replace IT'S mesh. However, after I replaced the mesh of OBJECT_SINGLE_ARROW (or something of the sort) with the decap'd head, it didn't work. I would fire the arrow and it worked perfectly except for the fact that it just went through the target. This leads me to believe that some kind of weapon data is controlled by the mesh, but I am by no means an expert. It would be greatly appreciated if anyone who reads this and who can either confirm or debunk this theory or who could provide any info at all post what they know so that I can improve this mod. Once again, thanks to all who post with any kind of info. Smile

Sure, it's simple really. Just open up the bow you want to change in OBJECT and scroll to its cweapondef. Click the first link, and scroll down in that list to find Shot. Click on this and you will see the ID for the shot of the weapon. In longbows it is SHOT ARROW SINGLE. Now go into SHOT in the main list (from which you entered OBJECT) and find the shot that you wish to substitute. Then simply copy and paste its ID into the ID slot of the longbow's shot. Same goes for crossbows and repeaters, but the starting shots are different. Hope this helps. Please feel free to ask if you have any more questions. Smile

At first I changed the shot, and that's what's posted. But then, after I realized that they didn't do damage, I tried simply swapping the arrow mesh with the head mesh. Yet, as soon as I did that, the arrows or "heads" ceased to do damage.

HPNT_weapon_pos_a Used for hit detection
HPNT_weapon_pos_b Used for hit detection

If it has those, make sure their listed in the CWeaponDef.
