I've never received it either. It just says on the Story entry some stuff thats apparently from within the journal, possibly a bug. If its an actual Object then I can fix this by having the Archaeologist cutscene reward it to you. But I'm not even sure the game contains the book.
Update:
On further inspection I can't find the book with FE. Not to mention sites like GameBanshee and GameFAQ don't mention such a book. So I guess it never existed. I guess I could have the book added and the cutscene reward it, but someone needs to think of what the Journal would say.

.... I'm pretty sure i got it, was either given to me, found on the ground, or on the bookshelf next to the books on the ground. on a seperate but related topic, where's the book screen? they're in other items screen on Xbox

Hate to go down the prove you wrong route but...
There are three books on the floor, they are "Creatures of Albion Book I, "A Love Story", and "The Sock Method". The bookcase contains a "Howl Tattoo". There is no journal. I just played it through up to that point to check. So I can say for certain on my PC version of Fable The Lost Chapters, there is no journal.
I've checked GameBanshee and GameFAQS, neither make mention of it. Is there a possibility your getting confused with the "Bloodline" book you get from Theresa through the Knothole Glade Chief.

It's just a link item. Something that leads to another part of the story. I think Maze mentions it but that's about it.
