Well I applied this effect via the CObjectAugmentationsDef - Augmentation Particles.
Check the screeny, the entries in the red square are the weapon trails.
Normally Augmentation effects are attached to multiple helpers: aug_01, aug_02, aug_03 and aug_04
However I attached this effect only to aug_01 (see pic below), it can be that the game doesn't like it attached to multiple helpers - I don't know...

As said above some effects crash the game when using this method, so be warned and make backups.
Also as seen in the screeny, it says aug_01 in all 'Model Dummy To attach Effect' fields, normally they have aug_01, aug_02, aug_03 and aug_04 - so I changed that myself, just so you know
this is not an exit.

Hey OldBoy, the post where you had 6 screenshots of the effects..what were the names for numbers 2,5, and 6?
I've been messing with the effects since yesterday, and the only cool effects I've found so far for swords was the SEPTIMAL KEY, and just recently I used the FIREHEART PULSE, which is really cool. It makes like this hearbeat every time you pull out your sword, when you put it away, AND when you swing.
