Use an already existing sword as a base, change it's mesh to your new sword and then change the entry name. Then go into the CDefs and change the entry name of the CInventoryDef (witch should be nothing) to something else. Go into the the two text entrys and also change their entry names, and if you want there text. Do the same for every other CDef that you want changed, it's CWeaponDef, it's CStockItemDef, and it's CObjectAugmentationDef are common things in a weapon that you might want to change. Load all the entrys into an FMP and save it. DO NOT SAVE THE CHANGES! Instead, close and reopen FE and load the FMP. If you did it right, it should create brand new entrys (if you forgot to rename them, then they'd over write the old ones). This should make a weapon simular, yet not the same as it's base, and assuming you didn't mess it up, it should still work. Hope I helped.
