What do you get when you combine Fable: 41, Fable: New Consumables, and a whole lot of weapons? You get exactly what Fable: Bare should have been in the first place. I will post random screenshots as I get more done, but you're gonna have to wait for the mod to be finished for the full experience.

Go to the WLD.

Example:

RegionName "CreatureHub";
NewDisplayName "Purgatory";

I tried that, except I made it "" instead of "creature_hub" and no change was made, maybe it just needs to have something else there to work, I'll try that.

Thanks Very Happy

Just create a new text entry in fe and tell the wld to use that as the regions name

How did I miss this thread?
Anyway, in the .WLD there's something called "NewDisplayName" as chaos mentioned, except it ties to a text.big entry, and as James Butts said you can make a new text entry, though I'd recommend editing the existing text entry to whatever you want (conserve entries!).
If you want to get detailed, check out the REGION entries. You should be able to find region descriptions for the regions that appear on the world map.

I'm just to lazy and don't want to search threw all of the text entries to rename an area so I save time by creating a new text entry

Really now everyone? You don't need to make new text entries. It's just like editing grave stones, just right out what you want to be displayed in between the quotes.

You most likely haven't messed with your user.ini yet if it doesn't work. I'm talking about changing TRUE to FALSE or whatever it was.

thanks, actually, I could use help tng editing. Tell me if you are interested. (this goes for anybody with decent (not beginner, because I'm doing serious stuff) tng editing skills. I'll be completely re-doing tng files. In other words, scrap the original and start fresh for the most part in many of the tng files)

wow, seems like it's going to be a giant conversion.

I think you should post a "to do" list and a "done" list Smile it would also help for your own organization as well as keeping this thread nice and clean from spam asking how far you are into the mod.

Just an idea Smile

If you think that keeps a mod thread clean of that sort of spam you're very wrong.

How, people will see the progress list, and if that's what they were going to ask about they wouldn't have to because it would be right there. Confused

well, the idea of changing the maps I was already planning on doing, but I am limited to where npcs want to go

do you mean Fable: The Legend of the Craftsman's Treasure could be the title of the mod?

and all of the old heros are still there, because it still has the old plotline and stuff, just with some more plot

but thanks for the enthusiasm ^_^

i have a new/new idea, maybe you can let the boy already begin the game when its 18, and then he made a wooden sword, like the one in the first post, and then the oakvale rage happens, and you can fight to them, of course you lose, and maze takes you to the guild. there you get a 5 year long training and then you can just play the game.
I dont know if this is possible but i think its a great idea ..

That's possible. Let's rework this idea some, for continuity.

I wouldn't use the age of 18, as I would imagine that an 18 years young boy aspiring to be a warrior wouldn't settle for a toy sword. The Hero fighting thing would have to be in a cutscene, I'd advise that the wooden sword be removed from the Hero at the end of this cutscene, as the Hero will get another weapon at the Guild.
At the Guild, rather than the Hero get a stick, he gets a training sword, pretty much a blunt longsword made of wood (can be done with a retexture). Continue from there.

I actually like the idea of changing the beginning. The sequence is very familiar to any modder, so the more different it is, the better the first impressions of the mod. As for this particular idea, I wouldn't say that I don't like it, just that it lacks too much. Don't get me wrong, any change is good, but that alone isn't enough to warrant the effort involved. Expanded = good.

Ye ok, but i dont see a little boy with a toy sword fighting a bandit, and, if your city is full of bandits, and they are running to you, and you look beside you and there is a wooden stock, im shure you pick it up .. right ? so maybe he finds that sword on the ground by a child that died, idk.
