Hey all. It's been nearly a year since I first posted on this forum and this is my second post Embarassed

I guess this is the best place to put this - didn't know if it really fitted under the graphics editting section Smile

Anyway - I've recently re-started modding fable and playing around with level editting and adding custom "architecture" (do steps count Razz).

Also recently started using a bit of software called pepakura for converting 3d models into papercraft, and being the creative individual I am (open for dispute), I decided to try making some fable papercraft.

So here are a couple of models I've made. I'll post more if people want me to.
JOB mask
(fits roughly...Removable too Very Happy - nose is a bit fiddly but not that bad)
http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/7062/jackofbladesmaskmodel01it1.th.pnghttp://img253.imageshack.us/img253/318/jackofbladesmaskmodel02pk6.th.png

Chocolate Box
http://img212.imageshack.us/img212/879/chocolateboxmodeltg8.th.png

Openable Chest
(Yet to try making this one - is reasonably complicated but should be reasonably straightforward to make. It should open too...)
http://img391.imageshack.us/img391/8471/chestmodelbm1.th.png

I don't have any instructions cos they should all be pretty simple to make. All you need really is a printer, a craft knife or something similar, something to cut on to (thick card will do) and glue.

I need ideas + sugestions for more models. Simple models would be good Smile Character requests will probably be politely ignored just cos:
1)They take ages to make to any high quality
2)No one would ever finish making one Razz
3)The save function is locked until you bt the license for pepakura (so you can make and copy your designs as bmps but then you can't re-open and edit them if that makes sense)

Buildings maybe?

Feel free to post pictures of completed models you've made here. Or any designs you do.

Vahron

Apple:

I tried the sword of aeons - i may give it another go but I think I'll have to simplify the model first Confused Skorms bow might be possible - I'll give it a go when I have time...

I might upload one of the guild map later. Anyone feel like helping me make a complete paper guild...

And for anyone who can't use an image editor Very Happy

(had to stretch it a little so it appeared more like the quest cards in game)

keep the sugestions coming Smile

Guild Map Table

It's a bit trickierto do I think cos of the small pieces. I haven't tried it yet but I will at somepoint.

If anyone completes a model please post it here so everyone can see how it turns out Very Happy

I'd have to edit + lower the polygon count of the model quite a bit before hand so it would be suitable. JOB may be good fun to have a go at at some point though but ain't promising sorry:)

@Waspp
Most complicated model I done so far and had to edit the model a little so it wouldn't be stupidly difficult to make all the small parts. I think It will work alright tho Smile

Wasp
http://img363.imageshack.us/img363/7350/waspmodel01vl7.th.pnghttp://img294.imageshack.us/img294/9045/waspmodel02fr4.th.pnghttp://img366.imageshack.us/img366/4992/waspmodel03xw1.th.png

There are a couple of strange small pieces in this one - once you start building it it should be kinda obvious where they go (I hope Razz). The best way to do the wings is to stick the corresponding pieces together then cut round the edge with a knife once dry. The black edge is not the actual edge - pepakura doesn't support transparency so just cut round the wing bit.

It won't stand up on it's own so maybe use some string or something to hang it?

Any other ideas anyone else? A simple building maybe?

Smile

[Edit]: A building....hmmm....what about the knothole glade tavern? quite a large model tough. and will the inside be textured to?

Does the stick count as a sword?

Wooden Stick:
http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/148/stickmodelvc5.th.png

If anyone has the patience to build this it's nearly 30 cm long (apparently)

I'll try a slightly more bladed weapon in a sec...

Which kinda beetle? The ones you fight to start with in the guild woods?

@Waspp
No probs mate Smile

KHG tavern may be good - will have a look at the model. It doesn't actually have an inside I don't think :/

edit: sorry - my bad - it does - just doesn't show up in cbox 3d editor Razz

like this (roof)

__outside --->/-/
__________ /-/ <--- Inside

'' - '' = glue

Silver Key
http://img257.imageshack.us/img257/4750/silverkeyzd7.th.png
This model is harder than it looks - it's a good idea to have something like a cocktail stick to press down inside flaps.

@ waspp
Yeah I think it'll probably be glued something like that - You may have to make do with a smaller building first - the KHG tavern looks pretty difficult atm. I may Edit it round a bit and see what I can do though.

But first a sword.

Cheers Smile

Ok - first proper weapon (I ain't counting the stick Razz )

Steel Katana
http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/1453/steelkatanamodel01xj0.th.pnghttp://img175.imageshack.us/img175/7138/steelkatanamodel02bf4.th.pnghttp://img155.imageshack.us/img155/6220/steelkatanamodel03zx5.th.png

This looks like it will be difficult - don't waste yer printer ink unless you think you can do it Razz

The flaps are a bit strange in places so be prepared to trim them etc. There's one tiny piece which fits on the gold/bronze part which goes over the blade somewhere...

Good luck Smile

I made the Fable Map Table. It was damn complicated. :S I would rate my outcome 3/10 due to these reasons

*I used silk thin paper wich were hard to work with
*I had no glue so i used scotch tape
*I Didnt have any aper knife so i had to use a sax (scissor)
*I dont have the proper software for my printer (I use drivers for another priner since my installation cd is gone)
*I didnt have any printer inc (no colour inc nor black inc). So i used photo inc (wich i had like one pixel left of in the inc value prewier)

[Edit] Couldnt make the map itself fit the ''base'' so i'm not going to post the outcome Razz i'll make nother try with the wasp anyway

haha - ah wells mate - well done anyway. I look forward to seeing it Very Happy I actually haven't tried the map table yet so

A knife is kinda essential...

I'll try to post up some pics of finished models over the next couple of days (I won't be round much tomorrow so I expect to come back to a thread full of pics of amazingly built models Razz )

For people who have never tried doing anything like this before probably try jack of blades mask or the chocolate box first just to get used to it Smile

The katana does work but it's kinda difficult :/ I'm getting there tho and it's almost finished. It's looking pretty good so far. You have to cut down most of the tabs so they fit - I think pepakura screwed up when calculating them (or something...)

edit: ah right - nevermind then - I'll give it a go after the katana

The wasp should be good...

no thats not true, see that piece with a little red on it? that's for the head.
is the tiny green piece that to you think?

And you need thicker paper for the waspp, was hell to just get the head together with tape and thin paper

ohh - sorry mate - was in a rush - yeah you are right - that piece does go on the head Embarassed

The tiny green piece I origionaly intended as a flap to place on the end of the body to stick the head to or something along those lines - use it if yer wish but I dunno how well it will work.

Try to get hold of some glue Shocked it is much easier. If possible see if you can get some higher weight paper - 160 gsm is what I use I think - I don't think it's too expensive and it should go in yer printer ok...

I'll try and get one more model up before I go away for a week...
