That would mean that there is a problem with Snowspire. Whether the problem is a texture somewhere that has alpha when it's not supposed to, or if there is a problem with a level script, there's really no telling. If you haven't done any modifications, then it's a game glitch, and you should ask at the Lionhead forums about it.
