Ok folks, here's the NewItemPack v2.5
It's the same as v2, but has the patch included, and it's all merged into a single fmp! Enjoy.

Important
This should work fine, I've tested it on a clean install several times, no errors.
As I've tested this on a clean install, I can't guarantee how this works on files that have been modded - although I think it'll work.
However: should you get any errors while loading this mod in Fable Explorer, don't save, but exit and try again.

About the mod

-> This mod can be used no matter if you have or have not used the FreeRoam App.

-> This mod adds a trader to the lookoutpoint who can sell you the new items. You find him where you find the silver key.

-> The mod also has a chest included with 4 items in it. I had to do this because else the game would crash. However; you can only open the chest with a special key - which the trader can sell you.

-> If you want to be able to undo the mod: make backups!

HOW TO:

Also take note on what DarkenedSoul told us:
DarkenedSoul wrote on Sat, 28 February 2009 14:57

But i think it's worth putting in the first post that it will take a LOOOOOONG time to load onto Fable Explorer.
Tell them FE isn't crashing, it's just loading. Moreso when you click Save Mods and Run Fable.

Hm somehow the beertankard model doesn't show ingame on my pc.
It doesn't crash, and can be used as a weapon - but the model doesn't show.
Might be my graphics card (or the lack of it...) Is that just me?

No it isn't in there. and I dno't know what version you use, but this is the same as v2, only easier to apply. And I also don't know wether this will install over v1, you'll have to try.

Look at the class, type, and animation group of a typical two-handed weapon's CWeaponDef, then copy the values over to the polearm's CWeaponDef. Then switch the CCarryableDef to that of a typical two-handed weapon, should be enough to take care of it.

I have taken off aging morph as well as the jog (replaced with walk). Is that the 'corruption'?

Close FE. Reopen FE. Try loading the mod again. You can also shut down any other working process, minimizing the things your computer is doing so that it can focus solely on FE and applying the edits.

Try, try, try again.

Maybe. This is best used on a clean file set.

Thanks, I open and closed unsuccessfully about 3 or 4 times, but now there hasn't been an error message, and it seems like it's loading the fmp, so everything should be working correctly.

Thanks for the lightning-quick reply,

i've been having item trouble latly.
but the sales man never loads up in lookout point. do i have to of already had the key?
and im using cbox to install free roam, do the mods count this as a version of free roam or should i use the non freeroam version?
Do i have to spawn this added stuff?
i'll prolly try a few more times different variants tho.

Copy the TNG into FinalAlbion, then press compatability files and copy it there too.

Take ownership of your files again. Thats what makes Compatability Files come up.

He's on a 64 bit machine. 32 bit apps and 64 bit apps are separated, so they have their own Program Files folder.

There's something that I do, on occasion.

When I get that error and there is no problem with the mod (this mod is just fine), I load the mod again (without having first closed FE). The second time I do not get the error. I then check to make sure there are new entries where there are supposed to be new entries, and resume as if the error never happened. While it may not be necessary to load the mod again (most, if not all, of the contents of the mod are written despite the error), I like to be sure.

I would keep this to myself because I'm afraid of people misinterpreting it, downloading broken mods, loading them twice and bitching to me that it doesn't work, but let's see what happens.

Search and read, or is that too much to ask? Or is playing with things without having any idea as to what they do a hobby of yours?

I reinstalled the Pack after I installed the Free Roam App, and I must have gotten that error message 30 times.

But eventually, it did work. I opened FE, got the error message, and then I would either close and try again, or do as John and simply continue.

In the end it did work, but I'd still like to know why this happens.

I didn't get a word of that

WHen you run fable, do you get an error? Printscreen it and paste it here in .jpg image format.

If not, be more specific. What exactly are you doing?

I am getting the exact same error.

I know you're adamant about it not being the fault of your mod, but it doesn't happenw ith anything else. Plus your "Then I guess you're out of luck. Too bad." was extremely rude.

I've tried opening it repeatedly, closing and reopening FE, absolutely nothing will work.

I am getting the exact same error.
Try the silly workarounds that I mentioned:
  • load the mod repeatedly until no error is given and check some of the new model entries to see if they're there; or
  • or load the mod and if you get the error, restart FE and try again, repeat until it works.
If that doesn't work then feel free to try your own workarounds. If you come up with a better one, let us know.

Side-note: This mod was made in ShadowNet FE, but should work with any build of FE that loads FMPs. If you want to try it for the hell of it, grab ShadowNet and see if that makes a difference (and it shouldn't, just saying you could try it anyway).
Simify wrote on Sun, 19 April 2009 02:05

The attempted to write to protected memory error? That happens with tons of things, especially anything that has to do with models. This mod deals in a lot of models, so it is very likely to toss that error.

We're adamant about it not being the fault of the mod because OldBoy has tested it, I've used it without even a problem, and it works for others. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that this is some typical user error deal and that it's your fault somehow, I'm just saying it isn't the mod, it works for others, and that the error happens sometimes and we have workarounds that you should try.

Plus your "Then I guess you're out of luck. Too bad." was extremely rude.
If it is perceived as rude, the reader is negatively reading into it something that isn't there. My statement is 100% true. If absolutely nothing works, then he is out of luck, and it's too bad, because this is a great mod.

I've tried opening it repeatedly, closing and reopening FE, absolutely nothing will work.
Lacking a better and more appropriate way to say it, I guess you're out of luck, too bad.

I´m getting the same error, wich says that the memory is corrupt and protective, etc etc.

I'm pretty sure it's not my fault, because I have used multiple mods before.

hmm though that might be the problem.

I don't use freeroam, because it crashes whenever I press 'Rip' Confused

ah well, I hope you'll be able to figure out what's the dealio with the mod.

You can't honoustly be saying that it's working 100% if there are multiple people complaining.
(no offence for the creators of the mod, you're all awesome. Razz)
