I found my copy of fable and decided to see whats going on i want to try to mod again currently i have blender and gimp and can buy 3ds max is there anything else i would need to start? I also have fable explorer.

The tools that we provide are all you really need to mod Fable.
Imaging and modeling apps are only needed if you intend to edit/create textures or models.
