Well.. i did it, and this is how it turned out.

I'm disappointed with the result.

For anyone who wants to perfectionize it.

Feel free to request, i would do any* retexture, but make sure to put it in the right section.

unless they are not completely idiotic hard.*

It looks very good, the coloring is just great.
I'd say it's fine as is, but if someone's going to do further work on it, I'd recommend only messing with saturation/vibrancy and leaving the colors alone. Except for the grip, some color could be added to the grip.

Anyway, it's very nice. Wish you had stuck with it.

That looks really good. Oh, PNGs are better than JPGs because they still lower the filesize but retain the quality of a BMP. Wink

Personally, I'd ditch the tribal along the sides of the blade. And go for a cleaner brushed metal look.

Color in the beak. (Make the tongue itself gold)
Color the feet a normal color. (like gold)

Get rid the shine on the entire thing and make only the metal parts shiny. Also make the white feathers shiny.

Look up some brushed metal photoshop tutorials. Wink

Bumpmap the feathers if they aren't already. I'm just going by memory and the texture itself. Just suggestions of course.

Don't be a wuss. It's possible with gimp too. Brushed metal is just creative use of gradient, noise, and motion blur.
