This is for use in mesh swaps. This will allow for weapons to be sheathed properly, for effects to be displayed correctly and in the right places, and various other little things that will reduce the problems with mesh swaps.

How it works:
This fix adds an invisible Hero skeleton to the swapped mesh, adding the Hero's bones and helpers to the new mesh, allowing for sheathing, effects, etc. etc. to work properly. It is technically a clothing item that is worn all the time, as it is put into place via the horns.

Important note:
I had to use the horns because it is the only item that the Hero always wears, but to make this work, I had to make it such that the horns will show when wearing a hat, otherwise the skeleton would be disabled when wearing a helmet and it wouldn't work. This is not a glitch, it's a workaround. It's worth the trade off if you ask me.

Another important note:
You still have to do everything else. Get rid of the expressions swap the animations (in most cases, JoB seems to work out alright since he doesn't have a face), this mod doesn't make it so you don't have to do anything else, it just fixes the problems with a plain mesh swap.

How to use:
First use a crappy mesh swap, then install this mod using FE or CBox. File|Load Fable Mod Package. Save Mods and Run Fable and you're done.

Yea, you still have to do some work like getting rid of expressions and swapping out the eyes. For the sake of saving time, I only asked dimmy353 to swap out the mesh, nothing else. Besides, he likes it that way:

<JohnDoe> Haha, didn't swap out the eyes? =P
<DarkONI> Nope, he looks cuute haha

Thank you. Smile

I've added another note to the first post and I'll say it here as well in the hopes that I don't get a bunch of complaints later on, the only thing that this mod does is fix the sheathing, effect positions and problems of that nature that are associated with a mesh swap.

It does not circumvent the need for proper animations, removing the face expressions, swapping out and scaling the eyes (as evidenced in the screenshots), or anything else involved in a mesh swap.

It's not a matter of me being lazy - I can do that very well on my own, and properly too. I just won't as a matter of principle.

As old as this topic "may" be...
If I use this fix, will it resolve this issue?

why not just give it a go ? dont be lazy and test it yourself.

also, put that big image in a spoiler.

Modding takes the fun out of the game but gets the game into the fun.

Okay, tested it.
Didn't resolve the warped face issue.
Might anyone know exactly how to fix it?

Delete your hero's bone files, or remove the bone morphs in your cheromorphdef. This has been asked, time and time again. Rolling Eyes

Read the site rules, as well as individual thread rules, stickies and announcements, and use search, or you will have smartassy or exasperated ownage rained down upon you by the site's crack team of mods and admins. Also, you can find all you need to get started on modding here.

And again, don't forget to remove the Hero's facial expressions in the CCreatureDef.

Sorry for the necromancy but as soon as I loaded this into my game it went all fubar. Does anyone know where the changes it made are located to I can delete it.

My game crashes every time I try to load my profile (when it starts auto saving) I've uninstall fable twice and reinstalled twice as well as uninstalled Fable Explorer and reinstalled that twice, it's still doing it.

Sorry to be one of those people to bug you with these questions but I'm quite upsets about this "Fix" mucking up my game because this issue wasn't fixed with backups.

If you are on Vista/Win 7, the problem is likely 'Virtual Store'. Delete/clear it. Here is a thread with details on modding with Vista/Win 7.
