Myst wrote on Sun, 03 September 2006 21:48 | A lot of people are demanding for a guide on how to change a weapon's damage. Well, here it is, the Do-It-Yourself-Noob-Proof-5 step-All that and a bag of chips- Guide.
First things first, you need Fable Explorer, related link in the Wiki. Install it, browse it a little, scratch your head and let's begin.
Step ONE Open Fable Explorer, and look for OBJECTS in the scrollbar to your left, as seen HERE.
Step TWO Double-click OBJECT and scroll down until you find the weapon of choice. In our guide I'll be using a Steel Katana as an example, as seen HERE.
Step THREE Ok, after selecting the "OBJECT" item in the scrollbar to the right, you should see a list with tables and some other mambo-jambo. What you are LOOKING for it called "CWeaponDef", so scroll around until you find it. Now, right under that, there is a refference to CDefDataEntry followed by a number. HERE is an example.
Step FOUR Click the blue link right under it (called "Links to (GameBINEntryID)") and another panel emerges. Scroll down and find the Damage Entry. A number should be under it. THAT'S the weapon's current damage, divided by 10.
So for example if you want the weapon you are editing to havea damage of 500, change this value to 50. Example is shown HERE.
Step FIVE After you changed the value, click the "Apply changes" button and than either save the game.bin manually (right click, Save As), or in the FE Menu, click Action / Save Mods and Run Fable.
VOILA. You can experiment with other changes also, you can basically modify anything, from the weapons Augments to Augment slots,it's name and description, to swapping it's MESH (a bit trickier) and what-not. Hope this helps.

If what you want to do is increase the damage of Skorm's bow, or any ranged weapon, then you need
to change the Shot entry.
In FE, scroll down past the Object list to the Shot list.
Click the + sign, open SHOT_ARROW_SINGLE_LEGENDARY, click + sign again,
Open HitThingDamage(may be different if you have an old defxml, but the number in it will be 24),
Change the 24 to a higher number:30 for 300 damage, 40 for 400 damage, etc.
Apply Change, then Save and Run.

Okay, when specifically does the message pop up? When you click on the text box, when you try to edit the contents, when you click apply changes, or when you click Save mods and run Fable.
Read the site rules, as well as individual thread rules, stickies and announcements, and use search, or you will have smartassy or exasperated ownage rained down upon you by the site's crack team of mods and admins. Also, you can find all you need to get started on modding here.
