Try using Papier-mâché. Or duct tape if you are in a hurry.
Seriously now, it looks like a helmet and works. the ponytail sticks out the back almost like it was made that way, I didn't try other hair styles.
I made a camo suit a year or two ago and tried them together, I get the impression Master Chief is a soldier of some kind, so camo seemed appropriate.
If I make a suit that matches more(recolor-wise only, I have no 3d knowledge) I will share it.
