Go to the top of gimp and then click Colors>Colorize
place the settings to these.
Hue:50
Saturation:60
Lightness:-17
Then you will get a nice golden shade.
*NOTE*I only tested this with a bereaver,not sure if the shade will go good with other weapon textures.
