You'd have to add (the correct) animations to the CAppearanceDef of the hero.

It's kinda complicated, since the hero has about 850 animations if I remember correct.

There are two ways:
1.
Swap the ID's of the animations you want between the hero and Thunder, they are in the graphics.big (they start with ANIM_).

2.
There's an application for working with animations and the CAppearanceDef (adding and removing them) here.
But keep in mind that none of us has done a lot with it, so there is little support for the app.

BlueTooth used the app to add the staff animations to the hero. (That mod can be found here.)
I would suggest taking a look at that, and the difference with the original CAppearanceDef of the hero.

So in very simple terms:
I think what you'd need to do is export the CAppearanceDef of Thunder and the hero (with fable explorer listed in the CDefs of the CREATURE_HERO and CREATURE_RIVAL_HERO_THUNDER).
And 'copy and paste' the animations you want from Thunder to the hero.
