Don't know why hats would be a problem only. But if I had to guess it would be the armour pack as none of the weapons messes with armour inventory save that. Also does the game freeze when you try to retrive a hat from a chest. Just make sure your spawning with correct names. I know that sounds dumb but I've had the same dumb mistake before. Embarassed

Also try and buy the head gear outright from a shop. Other than that I don't know.
