Thanks for the reply, I'll try to hunt down an earlier version to make things easier.
As a side note, I found something of a workaround for that issue in my case specifically.
If you Export the Sub Header and Entry data from one of the entries that does work properly and Import those to one that is having problems it seems to duplicate the image used in the prior case. The game appears to reference the symbol name and ID to place the file. This works okay for me because I'm just using solid black images and can copy from one to the next.
Thought it might be of interest, though, maybe help narrow the problem down a bit for future users.
That should take care of my sky and my flora, but I'm still drawing blanks for the lo-res distant landscape textures and haven't even started to drill into the shadow and lighting effects. Anyone have any ideas here, particularly about those landscape textures?
PS - Your morbid smiley avatar is mildly disturbing to me.
