Desarial said, | has anyone noticed the lack of bump maps for fable? I mean really, the textures lack so much depth it's almost like they were being lazy, idk I might look into that for most items seeing as alot of things can have a bump map added, but seriously, it would define the game more, possibly even give it some better visual quality.
| Really aside from the Will mark bumps and scars not much has been bumped. I think that the ageing textures also have bumps. But really where the bumps are mainly absent is the armors and creatures mainly of a couple reasons in my opinion. Reason #1: The DeadlineThe deadline is a common killer of many games. It is the reason the markets are flooded with buggy, seemingly unfinished games. (Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is the most recent offender along with Alone in the Dark.) I discovered earlier that online multiplayer co-op was intended to debut in the first Fable game when I found textures for "Add friend" "Invite to game" "Multiplayer Orb" but was then cut due to the approaching deadline. (Thanks JohnDoe.) This is happening again on a more public scale this time. Fable 2 was intended to have multiplayer cooperative play but has recently been announced that it will not feature cooperative play at the date of release. (Possible download via Xbox LIVE?) Reason #2: Primitive Technology Fable was released in 2004 and then Fable: The Lost Chaptersin 2005 right? The computer version could have potentially been as good if not better than what an Xbox 360 can produce. But they wanted to keep it level with the Xbox version for various marketing reasons. (Similar to why the second you open the box on a new computer it is already obsolete.) At the time the Xbox couln't really handle much more than Halo 2 as far as graphics go. Hence the lack of bumps. Let me remind you that this is merely a hypothesis and not yet a theory.
Hmm... Death Magnetic or Black Ice? So hard to choose.
