I noticed it was gone when I tried to figure out who made it so I could credit them. Anybody remember? There's no archived versions of the page that I could find, and the executable file has no name anywhere in it.

Anyway, here it is.

That's MegaworM's tool.
MegaworM wrote on Tue, 11 October 2005 22:48

This takes the raw names and formats them with numbers for use in the TNG file.

For example:

Unformatted:
OBJECT_RESURRECTION_PHIAL
OBJECT_SILVER_KEY
OBJECT_PERFUME
OBJECT_ROSE_RED_01
OBJECT_CHOCOLATE_BOX_UNGIVEABLE
OBJECT_CHOCOLATE_BOX_01
OBJECT_WEDDING_RING
OBJECT_FAKE_WEDDING_RING

Formatted:
ContainerContents[0] "OBJECT_RESURRECTION_PHIAL";
ContainerContents[1] "OBJECT_SILVER_KEY";
ContainerContents[2] "OBJECT_PERFUME";
ContainerContents[3] "OBJECT_ROSE_RED_01";
ContainerContents[4] "OBJECT_CHOCOLATE_BOX_UNGIVEABLE";
ContainerContents[5] "OBJECT_CHOCOLATE_BOX_01";
ContainerContents[6] "OBJECT_WEDDING_RING";
ContainerContents[7] "OBJECT_FAKE_WEDDING_RING";

And it can also unformat for easier editing. This makes it much easier to make large lists of stuff without having to number each one individually. n__n
He is inactive now and his original post is gone, but OldBoy preserved the post and the tool and the attribution to MegaworM in this thread. Should probably move that over to the tools forum.

There is something else missing though, the original shop trainer. I remember some people complaining that coming up with the numbers was difficult or whatever, and as disturbing as that is, the first shop trainer made it easy.

I have this-attached. It looks like a trainer, I never used it. I unzipped it and looked, and it has an item values list in the folder. If this is what you want, and you want me to upload to a file sharing site, let me know.

Nope, that's the one currently available. There was an older version deleted for being antiquated. Some people preferred it because it was easier, as it had preset values and on/off buttons.
