[General] Check contents of a mod [message #55345] |

You can see what entries a mod (.fmp) contains.
This can be handy for several reasons;
-> you can see which gamefiles will be changed.
-> you can see if it overwrites entries, or adds new ones.
-> you can see if something is missing
-> you can check the OBJECT name for scripting
etc etc
How To: | 1. Rename the extension .fmp to .big (example; mod.fmp becomes mod.big)
2. Start Fable Explorer
3. Click 'File' and 'Open'
4. Select the mod.big
5. The mod.big will now be listed in the top left panel of Fable Explorer, next to the other game files
6. Double Click on it
7. In the lower left panel there's now a list of the possible types of entries
8. If any of these have [+] it means that those types of entries are inside the .fmp file
9. Click on any [+] to view the entries
10. You can double click on an entry, which opens a new window, but you can't change the contents of it like you would normally with FE
11. You can close the file by 'right click' on the file in the top left panel, and select 'close file'
|
Don't forget to change the extension back to .fmp when you're done
Now you might think; why would I ever do this?
Well if you start modding and making fmp's this is a very handy trick.
I use this feature a lot.
this is not an exit.
