this sword looks really cool in the photo but in game it looks alot different and in need of a re-texture and also whenever I wield this sword the game crashes

yah, i just loaded it yesterday, i just found that fmp in the spanish site, so i dont know whats wrong, cdefs linked wrong i bet

I just looked at the weapon, to stop the crashing open the textures.big entry and change the alpha to zero.
The weapon still has problems after that though. The sheathed position is messed up and the whole weapon is gray.

The weapon is wielded wrong too:


It needs more work than I can do to fix it, I assume helpers and LOD changes in the mesh.

apparently they didnt place the helpers correctly and didnt give it a texture

Well, I can handle the helpers, and the sheathe issue, and as for the texture part, that is actually related to the helpers as far as I can tell, as I've had that exact same problem without anything being wrong with the texture or the UV map. I'll give it a quick looksie, and see if it will work. Wink

The texture.big entry is fine, it either isn't mapped right or the LOD's are off(if they can affect the texture, I don't know how that works).

LODs can be thought of as meshes independent of each other. It really is a different mesh, generally of degrading quality. The lower quality meshes are used in-game at a distance to allow it to run faster, but the player won't usually notice the lower quality meshes being used because they're far away.

Translation, the LOD meshes may be mapped wrong. For custom content it is typical to just upload the same mesh over each LOD to maintain consistency.

they flipped the uv wrap and moved it down as you can see in this pic but i fixed it

no, i dont have that mesh in game, to get the sword to work, it wont hold right or have a texture, go to the texture and change the alpha to 0

Lol I'm Maximiliano from the spanish forum, That was my first attemp to make a weapon, and probbably I'll fix it, but I don't have the mesh, or the textures, so I'll make it again Very Happy
