hi im sorry if this has been explained before, I wasnt able to find it. I am trying to shorten some of the sleeves/pants in the game but when i do, the arms or legs underneath can't be seen. What would I need to do to fix that?

take clipping prevention off of the calves

Clipping control is done through the item's CAppearanceModifierDef.

OBJECT_IM_A_DRESS >> CDefs >> CAppearanceModifierDef. Self-explanatory really, just get rid of the lines that say left calf/right calf by making use of the button labeled "Del" right next to them. Try that and see if it makes a difference.

I couldnt find OBJECT_IM_A_DRESS but I found its CAppearanceModifierDef manually and it worked, thanks for your help

EDIT: there still seems to a problem with the inventory though, after deleting the R_calf and L_calf, when I go into the game and move the mouse over to select the lower dress in the inventory, the game crashes?

oh my gosh, why does everybody do that?

OBJECT_IM_A_DRESS is not a real object, merely similar to the name of a dress.

it means OBJECT_[insert name of dress here], or OBJECT_(this is the name of the dress that you want to mess with, not the actual name of a dress)

both of which are not real objects

There's no such OBJECT_IM_A_*, as far as I know, it's a little joke used when describing whatever it is that you're editing.

*=%1
%1=object of edit

I've considered using other ways of doing this.
OBJECT_PLACEHOLDER_NAME_FOR_DRESS;
OBJECT_FOO_BAR;
OBJECT_ALICE;
OBJECT_LOREM_IPSUM;
OBJECT_JOHN_DOE;
OBJECT_METASYNTACTIC_VARIABLE.

Then I decided that OBJECT_IM_AN_OBJECT would work better than anything else. Despite that, people still manage to get it wrong. Does anyone have a better idea?

As for the crashing, I'm guessing that there is a problem somewhere else, because removing clipping prevention doesn't cause a crash.

I'd say OBJECT_YOU'RE_EDITING would be good.
