just an idea, has anybody ever thaught of swapping the files for the outline of physical shield, with enemy lock on file?

the effects are perfect for an evil look. being red and all.

if the idea has been braught up and failed or never gotten around to it let me know.

You can change the color of the physical shield in its spell entry. Just don't ask about color morphing because the way it's set up won't allow it.

I won't give you pictures, I have better things to do than hold your hand. However, I will give you some pointers.

SPECIAL_ABILITIES_PHYSICAL_SHIELD_DEF_INSTANCE

The controls that are possibly related to color are as follows:
B743F844
0D12F1DD
9B22F6AA
38B79234
EB127EB8
1B0750E2
D61C5A6F
Most of these are labeled as unknown. If you figure out what a specific one affects precisely, feel free to post it somewhere and if a majority of them are figured out, I'll label edit the def.xml to have the new names.

These controls are near the bottom. Each is an array of four values. The first, second and third are for red, green and blue, respectively. The fourth is for alpha, which dictates how much transparency, if any, the resulting color is going to have. Each value will be between 0 and 255.

So if you wanted solid red, the values would be 255,0,0,255.
If you wanted a translucent grey, you'd use 128,128,128,128.

Have fun, happy modding.

B743F844 definately changes the color, I'm going to test the other entries to see if any others make a noticable difference. Wink EDIT: Forgot to put up this picture of the red physical shield with mild translucence. And yes, I made my hero into maze. Smile
EDIT2:It seems that nothing else will make any changes color-wise before or after application of color through B743F844. Not even the color end entry whose number I forgot did anything. So I think that the master key for color change lies in B743F844 for the physical shield spell. Very Happy

Read the site rules, as well as individual thread rules, stickies and announcements, and use search, or you will have smartassy or exasperated ownage rained down upon you by the site's crack team of mods and admins. Also, you can find all you need to get started on modding here.

And that one's already labeled, so I'll leave the def.xml alone. Good work.
