I believe you cannot find these on the internet anywhere anymore.
These are needed to import .x files into 3ds max...

They should be labeled correctly as far as corresponding 3ds Max version goes.
Also, the plugin for 2014 should be the same for 2015 according to what i have on file for them.
Let me know if there are issues in terms of labeling. Mirror for each included:

I don't know if it's just my word editing program or what, but the ReadMe (aside from the dates, for some reason?) is broken and in weird characters.
Luckily, I already tried looking up how to add them into the Plugins folder from when I tried to find it before Smile

It's letting me import Fable meshes which is good, I am guessing it also allows me to export in that same format (.x I believe)?

The exporter from what I remember does not work properly for Fable. Panda direct x max exporter is what we used iirc.

Good post.

Here's the mofo import/export plugin for 3DS Max 8 as well as the corresponding Pandasoft exporter (required for animated meshes). I recently gifted my modding PC to someone more active than I, but going through my files I kept some that I thought would be useful.

I know this thread is dead, but all the links are dead or locked besides JohnDoe's and I don't have 3DS Max 8. I have 3DS Max 2008 and 2009 and I can't find any direct x importers for them. The mofo xporter plugin download link is down. Looks like his whole site is down and the links don't work even on archive.org but I was able to find the pandadirectx exporter on archive.org.

A few years ago, I was able to get both .x import + export plugins working with 3ds max 2009. I'm simply trying to do that again (for 2008 or 2009), but I can't find the importer plugins anywhere. I need Xporter v1.22 which should be here, but it's down.
If I can find and get them working, I will share them, but it's not looking good so far unless I get 3DS Max versions 6, 7, or 8. & I probably have them laying around on an old hard drive for the 2009 version. What a pain in the arse lol

Are you shpongled?
