Hi im a newb, i have read everything you have here on modding and its still confusing for me. there is only one thing that im aiming for:

I want a staff for my wizard

Please help me
it doesn't have to do anything just sit there and attack
PLEASE help me

load the fmp. equip a staff.

Otherwise you'd need to use the CAppearanceDef app that Silver made. For which there is no documentation.

how do you load the .fmp i have a staff in there but it doesn't work cuz its maze's staff. Please just provide simple directions.

This site was never put together for people new to modding. It's primarily a development site meant for developers.

If you want a mod friendly game I suggest playing Half life 2 or Oblivion.

Ok. Now that you've probably broke your game.bin. Copy a new one over from a backup or from the retail disc.

Then follow these simple instructions:

Download the fmp.
Download the newest Fable explorer.

In Fable Explorer from the file menu choose "load fmp".
In Fable Explorer from the action menu choose "save and run"

That will load the staff anims.

To get the actual staff follow the many tutorials in the scripting forum.

We appologize that this site isn't up to your standards and that our attitudes are not helpful. We seem to have totally neglected to consult you during the years of gathering information and developing tools. However, it is too late for us to change what has happened already.

But do not let us stop you. Feel free to start your own site and develop your own tools. We have obviously failed you, and for that we are sorry. And since this failure of a site seems to be no use to you, we are sure you will not miss it.

The same place it's always been. Stickied at the top of the tools forum.
