Three things:

1. Be more specific in your question; what type of file are you walking about?

2. Winrar does work for unzipping files -depending on the type of archive.

3. This is not the place for questions like this. But since you've started the thread, we might as well answer your question.

I use Izark, it's free and it unzips 48 different formats (at least that's how many it can associate with, some of them it can't open like bins).

Although witch ever you chose one thing's for sure...the most popular sip application (winzip) is also one of the worst zip apps I know of.
