Hi all!
I just recently bought Fable TLC and I am very disapointed cause I cant get it to run!
I tryed playing with the Settings (including Vsync), updated drivers, disabled all Themes etc.
It seems to work when I turn off the "Soundblaster X-Fi Music" but then I have no sound?!
If there is no user created patch or something, can you please tell me how to make it so I can have sound with my onboard soundcard?
Thanks in advance,
Lucas
In case its needed, my Specs are:
AMD X2 - 2x2,21 GHz
2,00 GB Ram
GeForce 7800 GTX
Win XP (autoupdated)
Sound Blaster X-Fi Music

Yes it does! And I play all other Games with that card too with no problems! (Many new games are even optimized for this card since it has better gaming performance than the one they originally made for gaming) but yeah u could be right that its not supported ... but isnt there a way to make the onboard soundcard play sound too?

If it supports directsound fully then you should be fine.
Try the following :
- Leave your soundcard in it's slot but disable it in device manager (You can miss this step but running two soundcards at once may cause instability and unecessarily waste system resources)
- Enable your onboard sound in device manager.
- Ensure it is set as default sound device in sounds & audio devices.
- Try a test sound to check the device is working properly
- Run dxdiag (Start>Run>Dxdiag) and go to the Sound tab (There may be more than one tab, check the device name to make sure you're on the right one)
- Press "Test DirectSound"
If this all goes well you should get sound from the game
Additionaly, if you're running WinXP you can set up hardware profiles. This will enable you to have a setup with the onboard sound enabled for Fable and one with your other card enabled for other games. You will be able to choose this when Windows boots.
