hi

when i import this texture into fe alpha does not work for some reason. for example look at the texture for the original bandit hat then look at this texture. if someone could help me with this it would be greatly appreciated.

yes i know its a bmp but its a texture so i dont have a screenshot for it.

BMPs support alpha, but this particular BMP doesn't have an alpha channel.

Math segment removed. I swear I can't do any friggin' math this past week.

But yea, this bitmap is 24 bit (3 bytes per pixel), RGB, no alpha.
Bitmaps with an alpha channel are 32 bit (4 bytes per pixel), ARGB I think, and have a larger filesize.

it's automatic. You don't need to make it look pink, just give it alpha

you don't, unless you want to model the hair yourself

I still don't understand why people mess about with alpha'd bmps when the games native dxt format is much better suited to the task.

I use png because of the simplicity of exporting it

I use 32 bit bmps because it's easier for me to work with in Flash 8. I really need to look for decent image editing software though.

Heh, I missed this post. Okay, that's actually the original model that has that abnormal black hair stuff going on.

With alpha, and without alpha.

It might be easier to save the original texture again and make edits to that rather than re-add an alpha channel to a texture without one.
