Looks good and used. Not so much a fan of weapons that look like they came straight out of the Sword Buyer's Digest.
May look good with a bit of blood splatter to give it that crazy lady look. Razz

I think this will be a great mod but i dont think the hero actully should find a "real" weapon in the beggining of the game. Instead let him find something like the ordenary stick

(I dont speak very good english)

maybe the begining Hero should just Throw rocks and use brass knuckles or something.
TO MORERUNES: ordinarily it is a stick you have a mod pack downloaded that makes it a toy sword.

P.S. YAY ETHOL!!!

I say keep the sword and let those who don't want it be able to sell it. Personaly I wouldn't mind taking jack down with a kid's toy weapon. Very Happy

@NEOCHICKIN - I know, I'm still talking about this mod. Not only did I make the mod that gave you the toy sword instead of the stick, but I am going to include that mod in this mod Wink

Actually, it's not really that much more than before. Before, most of those maps were set to SeesMap in the WLD, so it was still loading them before, just not all the npc's and creatures. It really doesn't bump up the load times that much.

Public Beta:

I wanted to show people what I mean by connected regions, with nice connected areas. I haven't finished greatwood by any means, but it's pretty close to what I want it to be in the end.

Since I know none of you are going to read the readme, no matter what I name it, here are the instructions:

How to Use - READ IT!

1. Start with a fresh installation of Fable - The Lost Chapters for pc. This requires you to delete the Fable - The Lost Chapters folder from your file system, and then uninstall the game, and then install the game again. Deleting the folder first is completely necessary, or the uninstallation will not work properly if you have done any modifications at all.

2. Either start up Chocolate Box and let it "fix your modding environment", or use freeroam and make sure tng and Lev (Unpatched) are both checked (not Lev (Patched)).

3. Copy the provided data folder and userst.ini files, and paste them into your Fable - The Lost Chapters folder, and when it asks you to overwrite, click "yes".

4. Open the Levels folder within the data folder (on your copy of Fable, not the provided data folder), and rename FinalAlbion.gtg and FinalAlbion.bwd to something else, such as BACKUP_FinalAlbion.gtg and BACKUP_FinalAlbion.bwd

5. Using Fable Explorer (preferably Shadownet version), load the plants.fmp file, then save and run fable.

6. Enjoy the new Greatwood!

You can download it here.

Also, on a side note, I highly recommend my Sprinting Hero mod for this, because there is a significant amount of walking to do.

--EDIT--

On second thought, DON'T replace user.ini, that will only disable gameflow. Sorry about that.

In the case that you already accidentally did so, open up user.ini and get rid of the two slashes before ActivateQuest("Gameflow");

I still can't wander out of the orginal Lookout Point area, but the bench and fences are there, and some arch.

There's an invisable wall, I;m still copy over the user.ini and delete those slashes. If this works, maybe change it? Very Happy

If there's still an invisible wall, then you're doing something wrong. I've done several tests. Make sure you've used freeroam correctly and stuff, and that you overwrote the wld with the one provided

I used Cbox, for one thing, but anyway.

Just overwrite the .wld? It should do the trick? Nothing else?

just follow the directions that I posted, and it should work. I would use Fable Explorer to load plants.fmp, because CBox doesn't load all fmp's correctly.

--edit--

In other news, I just finished connecting darkwood together. The broken bridge in greatwood lake will be a shortcut to darkwood I think, or maybe I'll get more complicated and do what John suggested and have it be buyable, then have it be a shortcut to barrow fields.

Progress Update - Map Connection
____________________________________

I have finished all of the connecting maps, which turns out to be less than I had hoped for. Turns out the northern wastes, Witchwood, and Gibbet Woods just aren't built to be connected. They're pretty separated. The paths in Witchwood don't connect, so it'd be pointless to try and connect them. Same with Gibbet Woods.

I did however connect most of Darkwood, and most of Greatwood all together though; I'm more than pleased with the results of those maps.

This means I am going to move on to editing the map content/making stuff/working on the Treasure of Albion. The maps aren't going to be hugely different, I'm just going to move some chests and stuff, make you look. Make some new digging spots, new fishing spots, and most importantly, a better Treasure of Albion (assuming it's possible).

Yay!

Sadly, after all this time, I still haven't gotten a whole ton done, but on the other hand, I got really good at connecting regions efficiently, but sadly, I don't need to anymore, so that skill will pretty much be outdated. Whatever.

-- Edit --

On a side note, I would estimate this bumps me up to about 50% done. Don't worry, I'm bug testing the crap out of this, and I won't let it get messy.

just a little feedback on the beta.

whenever you leave the guild the fisherman quest will activate and you are transported to the middle of greatwood.

No, I think he's right. Some quests start when a certain map loads and based on other conditions. If both conditions are there, then both quests will start. In my opinion, that's not a big deal, but I'll see what other people think.

yeah no big deal Laughing

just sending feedback on the beta. if it gets more problematic it can probably be easily stopped through the quest script/file.

Craftsman's Treasure[ 25 votes ]
1. Replace the Treasure of Albion 16 / 64%
2. Don't Replace the Treasure of Albion 9 / 36%

I have come to a point where I can make one of two choices: I can replace the Treasure of Albion and the clues with my own clues, chests, treasure, and locations, or I can make my series of chests, loot, and clues separate so the Treasure of Albion remains unchanged.

Keep in mind that replacing the Treasure of Albion will require a bit more effort on my part, but shouldn't be too bad.

You are doing so much to change the game, but I think a little more would be worth the effort. The current treasure, if I understand you, is lame. I assume you mean the frying pan and clues leading to it. I look forward to completion of this project, and appreciate all the effort you are putting into it.

Someone has been playing Fable II a tad too much, methinks Rolling Eyes

The general rule with modding Fable The Lost Chapters: What is in Fable II stays in Fable II. They're 2 different games made on 2 different consoles. Actual aspects of the game like vaulting etc. will not be possible to mod into Fable 1.

How I love hearing people say that ^^

I don't think I can give an estimate, because I keep working on it sporadically. While there isn't a ton of stuff left to do, it's really more about when I feel like working on it.

For example, a few weeks ago, I made a ton of progress. I brought myself from about half way done to at least 3/4 done, except I haven't worked on it since then because I've been making a willy wonka outfit for Oblivion, but when I'm done with that (or perhaps earlier) I may go back to fable and make a bunch more progress.

However, if you want a time estimate, I can at least say that I think it will be out within this school year, however don't hold me to that because I don't know for sure, it depends on how much homework I have.

Also, here's some pictures of the wonka outfit I am making.

http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/2126/oblivion200908241915417.th.pnghttp://img268.imageshack.us/img268/5561/oblivion200908241914328.th.pnghttp://img30.imageshack.us/img30/4425/oblivion200908241915026.th.pnghttp://img134.imageshack.us/img134/5261/oblivion200908241915114.th.png

Still gotta make a shirt, gloves, and cane.
