Old Archon Tower [message #44443] |

here it is, do what you want with it, give me credit. There's a video on youtube for it.
I'm posting it because I don't know if TNW will ever be finished, and so it's possible that it would never be posted, so here it is.
you need to open the meshes in CBox and properly link the meshes to their physics meshes, or the game will crash when you go to the picnic area, or try to see the tower.
just open the mesh, and where it says physics replace that number with the id of the appropriate physics mesh. If you cannot do this, too bad for you.
also, download the attached .tng file and save it to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Fable - The Lost Chapters\Data\Levels\FinalAlbion\ and it should ask you to overwrite. If you installed somewhere else, save it to [file path]\Data\Levels\FinalAlbion\ instead, with [file path] being where you installed fable.

since nobody seems to be able to do this, a tut is in order (no, this post is certainly not dead):
- Get CBox
- Make sure that CBox works.
- Open graphics.big
- Scroll to bottom.
- Find MESH_OLD_ARCHON_TOWER_LOWER_STAIRS and open it.
- Next to where it says "Physics" there is a number. You need to change that number to the model id of the [PHYSICS] model associated with that model. (So for MESH_OLD_ARCHON_TOWER_LOWER_STAIRS, you would click the ... next to the number and search for MESH_OLD_ARCHON_TOWER_LOWER_STAIRS[PHYSICS] and click that. For MESH_OLD_ARCHON_TOWER_LOWER_PLATFORM you would choose MESH_OLD_ARCHON_TOWER_LOWER_PLATFORM[PHYSICS] and so forth)
- Make sure you are clicking apply changes every time before closing each little window.
- Save graphics.big
- Ready to go

I realize I'm digging up the past a bit, but I'm afraid I cant get this to work for some reason. I followed the directions to the letter, but when I load nothing seems to have happened. The picnic area is still as boring as ever. :/ It's my first time using CBox though, so I'm assuming I made some extremely noobish mistake. Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks.

edit: aww crud, I just realized, I forgot to tell you to overwrite the picnicarea.tng in the FinalAlbion folder in your Fable - The Lost Chapters/Data/Levels folder, with the one posted in the first post
sorry, my bad

just download the .tng file at the top of this page, and save it to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Fable - The Lost Chapters\Data\Levels\FinalAlbion\ and it should ask you to overwrite. If you installed somewhere else, save it to [file path]\Data\Levels\FinalAlbion\ instead, with [file path] being where you installed fable.

Before you make the changes, it should look something like this:
You'll notice that the id's do not match. This goes for all of the pieces. All you need to do, is make sure that they match, a-like so:
The physics id should be one more than the mesh id, so MESH_OLD_ARCHON_TOWER_LOWER_STAIRS should have id (x), and MESH_OLD_ARCHON_TOWER_LOWER_STAIRS[PHYSICS] should have id (x + 1)
--To kublkun, if you want to make a video, go ahead, although I doubt it's necessary.

thanks for the screenshot, but please use png or jpg, not bmp
looks good to me, just make sure the others are like that, but using the other physics meshes

*sigh* this is just irritating, lol. im sorry for all the inconvenience guys, but now im just intent on getting this to work. can any1 think of what i may be doing incorrectly?
I've linked all the meshes with the physics using the [...] button, I've overwritten the old picnic area with the new one, I've made sure to hit the apply changes button before I close anything, I've saved graphics.big, and yet when I save and load and try to enter the picnic area the game closes. Does'nt even give me a good ol' error message.

hmm...
in FE or CBox, open Game.bin and go to OBJECTS>>OBJECT_OLD_ARCHON_TOWER_LOWER_STAIRS, and make sure it has the right mesh
then, if it does, go to the mesh, then open up the physics mesh and see if there is a physics mesh
if there is, then close without saving, and try using the attached tng file instead of the one you downloaded before

ok will do, *crosses fingers*
nope no change(there was mesh & physics in CBox/game.bin so i dl'd the new .tng)
still doesnt work :/ (and i dont see any way to view the physics in FE/game.bin/object/OBJECT_OLD_ARCHON_TOWER_LOWER_STAIRS/grap hics/etc.)
