Simple Explanation: Helpers properly named, rotated, and in correct places, ready for export. Just follow this tutorial after exporting.
Expanded Explanation: Load this .blend file, then move/rotate/scale your sword to fit the katana seen, and then delete the katana. Then, select a part of your sword (if only one part, then select that part) and hit Ctrl + A and select "Visual Transform to Loc/Rot/Scale. Do that to all the parts. Next, make sure the normals are reversed on your sword, and the uv coordinates are flipped on the y axis (may need some tweaking). Then select everything, go to File>>Export>>Direct X (.x) and make sure that flip z is NOT selected, and click export all. Save to some file.
Then follow this tutorial
"Mr. Cleave" is just an exported cleaver mesh by the way.

Why would you need it? It's just one of the Katanas from fable, modified for exporting from blender
