EDIT: Screenshots added!

I recently hacked and found a very good crossbow called The Harvester. It works fine, and so i decided ti put it in the game!

Simply enough, this is what i did:
• Made the chest at Twinblades Tent that of a 20 Silver Key Chest
• This chest holds The Harvester
• The description has been edited to fit a bandit weapon.

For those who are new to modding, you need to have used FreeRoam for this to work!

Instructions:

Toggle Spoiler

And the chest will be there.

I will add screenies later if need be Smile

Weapon Description:
The weapon used by Ripper, the original Bandit King. Before he died, he didn't trust the next Bandit King, now named Twinblade. So in illness he locked this in a silver key chest. Knowing only someone worthy would then be able to use this to strike fear, and bolts, into unsuspecting victims. This well made crossbow can easilly kill any human in one.

And the weapon i'm wielding in screenie 2 is called The Keshire Sickle. Want it? Search for it Smile It's a great mod by crazybunny and bluetooth.

Other than the description text, what other edits did you make to the Harvester? I was disappointed when I first found out that the repeater crossbows didn't have much significant improvement or drawback compared to the other crossbows.

I didn't edit the weapon itself, i thought it was fine as it was.

But i'm open to suggestions Smile

I'm still not a very advanced modder. But i'll try my best. Is there a way to make it not need charging?

I guess thats what they started with the pumpcrossbows but never actually got round to doing.

Not to my knowledge, no.

There are some things you could do though.
You can make the minimum damage high enough to kill anything, still needs to be held back long enough to penetrate, otherwise arrows/bolts will just bounce off of the target.
You can make the shot explosive, the bolts bounce off the target, but the explosion will still deal damage.

The alternative is finding the variable that determines how long you need to hold the bow back to penetrate.

Do you know where theres a tutorial to make the minimal damage much higher?

Or do you know? Razz

I wanted the weapon to be realistic, like all the other legendary weapons. Not a godlike damage weapon. So explosions isn't a great idea for me.

I will try to find that variable.

hmm, you could easily add harvestor to your inventory using ShadowNet

Of course you could, but I gave it a story and a place ingame.

anujgamer343 wrote on Mon, 30 March 2009 23:18

but i guess some people will need a chest to make the game more "real"

No one here should need it but it's far better than modding FE for it.
