Hey im new to all this ,but im very impressed with the work iv seen on this site. (good job) My thing is i want to make swords and use them in the game, iv got 4 different video tuts and have read everything i can find about it. iv got everything down pretty good, but im running into a problem i cant find an answer to. Anyone that helps me out and doesnt just bash me with rude comments will be rewarded when i figure this out.

problem i have: when im putting my mesh into FE i get an error message saying its not an object or somthing, iv seen this 1 other place in the forums but the question never realy got answered, the modder just basicll made fun of the guy and repeated his tut, so anyone that gets me past this hard spot will get a custom sword of his/her choice (like there's any females).

Thank You!

You are already off to a bad start. This site is all about sharing. Modders share their work through the use of fmp, bigs, and tutorials. And here you are saying you plan to offer your work to only the person that helps you. At least that's how I see it.
Quote:

so anyone that gets me past this hard spot will get a custom sword of his/her choice

And noone is bashing anyone, the modders you think are bashing, are just trying to make new modders learn to think for themselves, because they rarely want to do that, they feel they are being picked on. The best way to get along on this, or any other site, is to politely ask for help when you have a problem, certainly not temper your request with things like 'don't make fun of me and ask me to actually read and pay attention the the tutorial'. If the tutorial worked for one person, it worked, and anyone that can't get it isn't trying hard enough.
Hell maybe I am 'bashing'.

Good luck

Firstly, welcome to the forum.

Secondly, do you mind posting the text that it showed in the error?

All im saying is that i just wanna make swords for my game, ill put them on the site, and anyone that likes the kind of swords i make and helps me out a little will get my time and effort returned for theres. iv got a life. wife, kids, that kinda thing. so i dont plan on spending every waking minute pushing out mods for other people. Why did you even post if you didnt plan on saying anything useful? I get it that there are lazy people just trying to get to step "c" without doin the first 2, but this is kinda what i was talking about man. Everyone was a Noob at some point, chill out.

If you don't have patience, you wont get far. Also I wouldn't recommend insulting senior members, you're gonna need their help.
So chill out.

As for you problem; post your mesh and I might take a look at it, or someone else maybe.

I also see you have found the edit button.

Im not trying to insult anyone. Iv been a gamer for a while and i cant stand the bullying of Noobs, so i was saying "if you dont wanna help or think im a complete duschbag leave me alone"

or if im that much of a problem ill just move on.

p.s. sorry if i hurt anyone's feelings.....

And all I am saying is; be patient. If someone ask you something, they don't have to reply instantly...

In this section of the forum you can't post attachments, so you'll have to open a new topic in the graphics section and attach the .x file of your model to the post.

Also: don't double post, but use the edit button instead; you know how to use it.

Looks like there are no helpers and such.
Check this tutorial for making weapons work in Fable.

After making a model, you should import an existing model in 3ds and parent everything, and relocate the helpers.

You have to parent the new mesh correctly.
Check the vid from the link above, somewhere near the end, after 3 minutes or so you can see how it's done.

Truth. A lot of us have lives. A lot of us have a lot of projects going on, both inside and outside the realm of modding.

If you click the "Make Back-ups" link in my sig, that thread will tell you how and where to get the original bigs and bins off of your Fable disks. Click the second 'Show' button.

no, they won't work either. Make sure you are exporting ASCII and not binary

For weapons you can also use this eexporter. It's the easiest I know of.
