This is my very first mod so I hope you all like it.


This mod lets you play as Jack of Blades! Your title is Jack of Blades, you will have Sword of Aeons in your inventory, you walk like him when wielding one handers and you have his combat pose when wielding one handers. You even sound like him when you attack!


He dosent sheath right so I recommend getting the no sheaths mod.


You only walk like him when you walk so you can still jog, if i edited the jog it would take forever for you to get anywhere.

To install:Simply click on File and load fable mod package and click on FullHeroJOBPlayableSet and then click actions and save mods and run fable.

To Restore:Simply click on File and load fable mod package and click on HeroRestore and then click actions and save mods and run fable.


EDIT:to make your hero Jacks size go to my computer, local disk, program files,microsoft games, fable the lost chapters, data, bones and move all the original heros bones to a safe location.


EDIT:I added a hero restore just incase you forgot to make a backup and I added JOBs special effects to the package. I also added JOBs attack moves and strike recoil. If mod isnt working youll need to either replace your cappearancedef id to 14921 or download the FMP in post 52740(Note:The FMP in post 52740 dosent include his attack moves but his animations for all melee weapons)

HeroJOB is a CREATURE entry.
hero is a CAppearanceDef.
HeroJOBSound is a CEntitySoundDef.

Okay, but what's wrong with making an FMP?

Sorry, like I said this is my first mod, how do I add the defs to a fmp?

Glad you got it straightened out. Looks very good, even if there are a lot of mods that go this way, the fact that it's more than a mere mesh swap pleases me.
I was thinking about adding the scabbard helper to the JoB model so as to allow proper sheathing.
If you're interested in implementing it in your mod, I'll get to work on it straight away.

FMP adds a new mesh.
I've tried this before and got a crash, but I didn't know as much back then and I was trying all sorts of things at the same time, each of which could cause a crash for various reasons. Still, this isn't tested in-game, so you may want to do that first. Wink
But really, it should work.

I loaded the FMP but sadly had no effect ingame Sad


Edit: I forgot to use the new mesh on my hero Rolling Eyes ill try it again

Well, it was a nice thought. Thanks for trying it out for me.
I'll toy with it later and see if I can figure out a way to make it work.

No, you import it on your hero in creature under the def, if you want i can make it a fmp to make it easier.


Edit: I made it a FMP, just download it again and load the mod package.

i tried importing it in FE and it just wouldnt import. it was weird, but thanks man!

hmm, i loaded it, saved and ran fable, and....... absolutely nothing happened.

Hmm, Ill check it out, sry it took me so long to respond.


Edit: Its working fine for me, are you sure your wielding a 1 hander? If I have the time ill add the animation for 2 handers sometime tomorrow, or maybe even tonight.

Edit: ok here it is and a new full mod pack that includes all melee weapon JOB animations. If not working scroll down to find a working one.

yeah im sure, iv tried multiple swords and i got nothing. some one already made a JOB 2 hander, iv also got that 1. you cant run with his though....

ill try the new fmp , be back in a bit Very Happy

thats very odd, what does the id for your cappearancedef say? It might be because I downloaded a appearance mod that added a new entry. If thats the case I'll edit the original ID. the id that my hero is using is 14921.

ok, Ill get right on it.

Ok heres the new working FMP(if you only want one handed download the fmp in first post but change your cappearancedef ID to 14921) for appearancedef and the entire mod package.

Edit:Heres the working restore aswell.

Edit:Just realized hero restore isnt working. Heres a fixed version. Hopefully this is the last bug Embarassed

This mod ain't working for me:
I downloaded he latest job.fmp and restore.fmp, opened FE, loaded job.fmp, actions/save mods and run Fable. And when it loads I get this:

I can see the Hero Sad

How to fix that?

[EDIT] When I used the restore I still had animations of JoB.

Interesting.
I can't tell from the picture, but more often than not it isn't the actual Hero model, and is instead just Hero accessory meshes (stuff like clothing, hair, horns and the like). These can be removed several ways.

What I recommend is restoring to a backup of your most recent game.bin.

Luckily I had a game.bin backup because that is what I modded so far and that took care of JoB animation. Could you or someone tell how to make this mod work or point me in right direction, where to look for help.

Perhaps if I remove my clothes and shave my head? I will try that and post results.

Go To File
Load Fable Mod Package
Select The .fmp file
Go To Actions
Select Save And Run Fable.

im so sorry about all the bugs, I went on a vacation, just got back, ill start working right away.
Ok heres working restore.
steps to use correctly:
1:Open FE
2:scroll down to CREATURE
3:click on it
4:scroll down to CREATURE_HERO
5:click on it
6:clcik the plus by creature on new screen
7:click on cdefs
8:under CappearanceDef make sure (int)cdefdataentry is 10533
9:load the fmp
This should work, also make sure you have no outfits on and are bald. and best if ur neutral allignment.

Where did you edit the values for the walking animation and battle stance, I looked everywhere in CAppearanceDef, CAnimationDef, CREATURE_HERO CombatTypeDef HeroCombatDef and Combat Type 2. Am I blind? Or looking in the wrong places. Not a noob, so you don't need to explain it to me like a child I know where just about everything will be when you tell me where to edit it. Smile

Animations are handled via the CAppearanceDef.
If you want to change stuff in it, you need the CAppearanceDefApp that silver made -> tools section.
Check my tutorial thread (link in my sig.) for some info on editing the CAppearanceDef.

Wow very nice mod for your first time. The only problem I see with it is that your characters head sticks out his chest sometimes and if you have a bow equipped it looks like its hanging out his butt Laughing

Hello, I am new to this modding stuff. I need some help with my abomination of a character lol. I moved all the bones like you said to fit the size, and I (of course) downloaded and used the mod. Well uhm, jack is coming out of my hero. He is bigger than the hero for some reason. Any help would be appreciated!

Okay sorry for posting again, I took off all the armor and he looks great. Only problem is that his head is coming out of Jack's chest when he has his weapon drawn.

Hi im new to the modding thing, and i tried this mod, but cant restore it. He doesnt look like jack of blades anymore, but he walks like him with his melee weapon drawn. Can someone help me? he is soooo slow

Simply go to where your Fable Folder is.
Go to the folder '' Data ''
and Click on the folder '' bones ''.
Look for :
hero_berserk.bncfg
hero_fat.bncfg
hero_strong.bncfg
hero_strong_tall.bncfg
hero_tall.bncfg
hero_teen_set.bncfg
hero_weak.bncfg
hero_young_set.bncfg

and delete those files.
if i'm right the bones from the Hero, would now be gone
and you will only see Jack of Blades
