ok then guys yet another seemingly simple question from the ever-annoying charrzarr: how the @#$% do i texture a mesh that i made in blender
as some few of you may know i got blender and tried my hand at modeling recently and, in my opininion, i am rather good for a beginner. now, i have made a katana that i would like to place in fable but, i need to texture it before i do more(wouldnt want to set up the helpers and everything then not be able to use due to lack of a texture) i have paint.net for an image editor but i have no idea how to make the texture for the katana

If all else fails, slap 'em with a fish.
