I have a new concept down for mix'n'matching existing textures to make new ones, I want to gather some opinions on how it looks.

Four 512x512 PNG images.

The idea was to get it to look like the images were kind of airbrushed on to the cloth over a stencil. Did I get it to look right? And if not, what methods would you suggest to do this better?

Edit: Apparently I can't count to five without skipping one, it's only four images.

I would say that this is a good idea, and your examples are the herald to Fable-TLC Modding T-Shirts. Razz

Seriously though, I like it.

Age: 62+ (Or at least thats when he stopped counting...)
Alignment: Angelicly Good
Weight: Slim
Muscle Structure: Makes Thunder Jealous.
Modded: No.

Those look pretty cool, I might add a small, barely noticeable outer glow of white around the "airbrushed" image. Also, it might look neat to add some dirt.

They look pretty cool though

Seeking more critique. This render was done with the leather shirt mesh, bright leather shirt texture blended with a sand texture in the same way as the images in the first post. Does this look like something you'd see in Fable? Specifically as a part of a statue in Fable? If not, what would you do (or recommend) to improve it?

Feedback appreciated.

It does look 'stony', I can see that as a statue.

Hmmm... Can you do the same blended texturing technique with creatures? I think the statue is cool, and I can imagine large stone creatures, or large watery creatures, or other types that would look good with this style.

It is immediately recognizable as stone from Fable Smile

Of course. It's just a retexture, so it can be done to any texture.

Actually, I would lower the saturation just a scotch, it's too sandy

Well I should hope so, it's the sand texture. Razz
While I can't say anything further, I may or may not be building a sandstone statue on a beach somewhere.

Edit: But for stone-/statue-esque creatures as Elion Demur had asked about, or just regular statues that you'd see in Bowerstone or someplace like that, I'd definitely go with something less sandy. It's all about blending in so that it doesn't look out of place.
