Since i have windows 7, it was required to change a couple things using Johndoe's tutorial to mod fable.

http://fabletlcmod.com/forum/index.php?t=msg&th=8110& ;amp ;start=0&

I followed everything and no doubt it works, Im able to change values and such and they work ingame but when i use region editor via chocolate box, and try to run fable, it doesnt run at all. what i did was I went into the guild demondoor and changed the contents inside of it. im not sure what Im doing wrong.

Update. so I played around a bit, its fine when I spawn an empty chest, but as soon as I add anything, it doesnt run.

You have a borked chest script. Post it and someone will help you out.

Here's your problem there, you spawned an empty chest, visited the area it was in, then edited it without generating a new UID for it. If you edit something that you've been to before, you HAVE to give it a new UID. Otherwise you experience that crash. Rolling Eyes

Read the site rules, as well as individual thread rules, stickies and announcements, and use search, or you will have smartassy or exasperated ownage rained down upon you by the site's crack team of mods and admins. Also, you can find all you need to get started on modding here.

Nope. Empty chest will do nothing except lock the game, causing the Hero to stare into the chest waiting for something to come out indefinitely. And if he did save with an empty chest there, changing the UID will spawn a new chest in the exact same place so odds are he'd still be opening the empty chest.

He has a borked script, he needs to post it if he wants someone to fix it for him.

But he was using cbox, so he wasn't scripting it. Therefore I doubt he has the slightest concept of what the script is. Confused

Then that's his problem.

I think everyone would have a better understanding of these things if they do it by hand first, then switch over to the tools.
