Would it be possible to assign a key to walking speed? Walking as in walking, not jogging or running. And maybe have that key be a toggle..

Mass Effect is another one of those games where you're in eternal jogging-mode. Some people saw fit to mod that though. I thought maybe someone did the same for Fable too, since it's such a classic.

I've found by looking around that it is possible to swap out the animations used and that it's relatively easy to do. However, a toggle is not quite as easy. The only thing that I can remember toggling speed and animations in the game is sneak - but then sneaking animations can be swapped out with walking animations just as easily. It did bother me how cartoony the player seems while sneaking anyway.

I'd be willing to make such a mod for you if you'd like.

That would be awesome.

I too figured most of the code is already in place under the sneak function of the game. If it can indeed be copied/renamed and bound to a different key, then it would be a matter of changing the animation and moving speed. Perhaps the animations in the game give a clue as to how fast that should be?

You misunderstand. I would not be creating a new toggle, I would be replacing sneak altogether. Changing the animation should also change the speed without any issue, but just in case it's off a bit there are values in the definitions that could be fiddled with.

Sorry to butt in but Is there a walking animation in the cut-scenes for the player? I remember this coming up before. There was some reason the cut-scene animation was not usable but maybe some one will change that. Sure would be nice to walk. Especially when escorting or following.

You don't need to use the cutscene animations - there are regular walking animations. Walking with a bow, crossbow, repeating crossbow, one-handed or two-handed weapons, with no weapon. Same for jogging, sprinting and sneaking. Smile

Fulfilled. I'm not satisfied with it though. The hero's CAppearanceDef only utilizes one animation for sneaking, so it's hardly an in-depth edit.

Thank you so much!

I'm not an Xbox gamer, but I'm pretty sure that the analog nature of the controls allow you to make your character walk if you just lightly touch the controls. It works that way for Mass Effect, at least.

Would be cool if someone at Microsoft or whatever starts to get the idea to ship keyboards with analog wasd keys too.
