You need to take ownership of the files you want to mod, just running as administrator isn't enough. Vista rules apply to Windows 7 also.

I smell a different foulness of user error here.Scroll down to the very bottom of the OBJECT entries, it should be there. ChocolateBox sorts entries numerically by ID, FableExplorer sorts entries alphanumerically, so things don't get placed the same way.

That's because that's the solution for Vista/Windows 7 Access Denied issues. If you get the 0x8007007E error, it's a dependency issue and you need the prerequisites.

That is something you need to figure out on your own, or maybe someone will tell you. I do not use Vista so I do not know where it will be, I only know about it from other threads that mention deleting it to fix your problem.

Be that as it may, you are getting a dependency error (0x8007007E). The DirectX SDK has an HRESULT error lookup tool, which says:
