Hi everyone. I stopped playing about 6 months ago because this problem was getting rather old, and re-installed it again only to have the same problem keep happening.
The game looks and plays great right up until it freezes. Lightning for example is my favorite weapon, but about one out of every 20 uses the game freezes completely, the lightning sound loops, and windows completely stops even trying to run the game until you manually ctrl alt del and shut down the exe. The game doesn't slow or give any indication that it can't handle the settings until it up and freezes.
My specs if they matter:
XP
AMD Athlon 4200 dual core 2.2 Ghz w/ newest drivers
Nvidia 7800 GTX w/ newest drivers
2 gig ram
