I can't say I'm a fan of Halo, but you are certainly not alone in that.

There are a few people who can do this, it's not something we haven't been able to do, only that it's not easy so only a few people do it:
morerunes did some work recently, example;
crazybunny has done some stuff, example;
The legendary BlueTooth can, of course, example;
Ailia has done lots of stuff, example, there's armor too;

and a handful of others but I couldn't think of their names off the top of my head, so yeah...
but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for anyone to make a guide.
