I still recommend the xdk if your running an original (modded) xbox. Gives access to the drives via winows explorer as well as the abilty to reboot the console, takes screen/vid caps and a few other things. It even runs under Vista (albeit not perfectly).

I'm guessing it's still out there on the interwebs so google is your friend if you're interested in getting it.
