Skipped a step. Not your fault, no one has told you. Though common sense would blah blah you're new so whatever and I don't really care anyway. The point:

There's a foes list too - the Hero is on it. Remove the Hero from this list. Just hit the button just left of the string, it will be labeled "Del". Then change the count to be 1 less. So if it's 3, change it to 2. Click Apply Changes, Actions|Save Mods and Run Fable, and you're in business.
