When you reinstalled some files stayed on your hard drive. In my opinion the best way to fix the problem is to manually replace the game files that were changed. The link in my sig will explain how to get the files off your disks and where to put them. Click the link, then look in the spoiler blocks.

Or, after uninstalling delete the game files from your temporary files. You have Vista or Windows 7, correct?
