Also, in doing this, the menu doesn't boot the player out of the quest select screen as it usually does when there's no more quests, I know that means something and I used to have a theory on it but can't seem to remember at the moment.

Probably because you may sitting in a different quest menu. I'm sure there's a byte in the Definition that controls kicking you out when it's empty.
