I just applied the fmp on a clean install, put the new object in a bookcase in the Guild, started a game and got the gloves and they worked and looked fine in-game. Much of what you said made no sense to me. I recommend replacing your back-ups and trying again.

If you are using a language than English FTLC, that may be causing the problem, English doesn't seem to be your first language.
