Personally, I'd ditch the tribal along the sides of the blade. And go for a cleaner brushed metal look.

Color in the beak. (Make the tongue itself gold)
Color the feet a normal color. (like gold)

Get rid the shine on the entire thing and make only the metal parts shiny. Also make the white feathers shiny.

Look up some brushed metal photoshop tutorials. Wink

Bumpmap the feathers if they aren't already. I'm just going by memory and the texture itself. Just suggestions of course.
